Larry Shackelford became president and CEO of Washington Regional in 2017 and has been employed by Washington Regional since 2010. Prior to joining Washington Regional, he served as CEO at Medical Associates of Northwest Arkansas. Shackelford earned a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Arkansas and worked for the accounting firm Baird, Kurtz and Dobson before entering healthcare administration. Shackelford is a fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. He serves as chairman of the board for Partnership for Healthy Arkansas and is a member of multiple boards, including the American Hospital Association Region 7 Policy Board, Arkansas Hospital Association Board, Arvest Bank Board, Dean’s Executive Advisory Board for the Walton School of Business at the University of Arkansas, Northwest Arkansas Council, and the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a member of the Governor’s Winter COVID Taskforce. Shackelford was born and raised in Northwest Arkansas. He and his wife Julie have two adult children — son Reed Shackelford (and wife Madeline) and daughter Jamie Young (and husband Corben). Shackelford also has a 1-year-old granddaughter, Nora Young.
