Fallon specifically recalls staff members taking moments out of their day to see to her needs and comfort her, including as she waited for her newborn to have a spinal tap. Those little moments add up to the biggest dif- ference for families, Fallon said. “I understand how vulnerable patients and fam- ilies can feel, facing their best and worst days in a hospital. It can be overwhelming,” Fallon said. “For me, this work is an opportunity to make a dif- ference for others in similar situations, almost as a way to pay forward all the support and help and kindness I experienced.” Before joining the Arkansas Children’s team, Fallon served as the director of support services at Texas Children’s West Campus and the direc- tor of operations performance at CHI St. Luke’s in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Radiological Health Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Public Health and doctorate in management and policy science from the Univer- sity of Texas School of Public Health. Baptist Health Appoints John Goodman to Oversee Cancer Services Baptist Health recently appointed John Good- man, who has more than 17 years of experience in healthcare leadership, as corporate vice president of oncology, pharmacy, and respiratory services. In this role, Goodman will steer cancer services for all of Baptist Health. He will actively lead the development and execution of a comprehensive system-wide strategic plan for cancer services in partnership with the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Can- cer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Med- ical Sciences. Goodman will also lead pharmacy and respi- ratory services across Baptist Health focusing on operating performance, resource planning and utilization, clinical collaboration, and qual- ity outcomes. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Goodman recently held the position of chief operating offi- cer and chief administrative officer of a local can- cer organization. Before that, he held the position of vice president of the oncology service line for Ascension Saint Thomas in Nashville, Tennessee, where he also served as the vice president of hospital operations at Saint Thomas Midtown and West. Earlier in his career, he was the system leader for oncology services at Piedmont Health- care in Atlanta and served there approximately 12 years. Arkansas Heart Hospital to Open Texarkana Clinic Arkansas Heart Hospital has recently opened its first out-of-state facility at 3930 Galleria Oaks Drive in Texarkana, where providers began see- ing patients in mid-March. The 21,000-square-foot building includes a full-service cardiology clinic and, by early 2023, will also include an ambula- tory surgery center. “Our expansion into Texas is yet another step forward in our mission to transform the health care landscape,” said Bruce Murphy, MD, CEO. “With our laser focus on delivering the highest- quality, most innovative patient care, we will con- tinue to be a global leader with unlimited growth potential.” The Texarkana clinic offers general and interven- tional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac imag- ing, clinical laboratory, and vein and vascular ser- vices. A full-time, on-site physician and Courtney Riddle, APRN, lead the care team. Doctors Scott Beau, Andrew Henry, Wesley Lane, Michael Logu- idice, Andre Paixao, and Paulo Ribeiro are also available for regular appointments. Once com- plete, the ambulatory surgery center will include fully equipped hybrid catherization labs as well as pre- and post-operative rooms. Baptist Health Names Lawrence Montgomery as System’s Chief Marketing Officer Baptist Health has named Lawrence Montgom- ery as the system’s chief marketing officer. Montgomery previously served as executive director of national brand advertising for Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California, where he has been since 2010. Prior to that, he served at UC Davis Health System and the State of California, Department of Public Health. At Baptist Health, Montgomery will be respon- sible for developing and leading a marketing and communications team focused on optimizing the patient experience, driving service line revenue growth, and supporting the brand and mission of Baptist Health. Montgomery received Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and political science and commu- nication from the University of California, Davis. He has a Master of Science in Business in Inte- grated Marketing and Communication from Golden Gtate University and a Master of Science in Anthropology from Harvard University. Brian Hyatt, MD, Appointed Vice Chairman of the Arkansas State Medical Board Psychiatrist Brian T. Hyatt, MD, has been elected as vice chair of the Arkansas State Medical Board.
