Forrest previously served as the primary human resources liaison on national CHI projects for CHI St. Luke’s Health System in Texas to improve operational efficiencies within local, divisional and national functions. A Jacksonville native, Forrest earned her juris doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and criminal justice with a minor in political science from the University of Arkansas. STEPHANIE MOFFETT Human Resources Director, Ouachita County Medical Center Stephanie believes that the success for an organization is built on the foundation of hiring the most qualified and suitable employees who have a passion to provide the community with accessible, personal and quality healthcare in a safe and confidential environment. These employees administer healthcare with courtesy, friendliness and respect. Moffett has stated, “People are my passion. I find it a joy to serve Ouachita County Medical Center and our employees to the best of my ability.” She has also expressed her strength of commitment to her team and her hope for the future: “Amid the momentous obstacles our office faces, I stand encouraged every day to see the selfless commitment of Ouachita County Medical Center’s employees. It is truly an honor to serve with them and for them in this daunting time.” DANIELLE LOMBARD-SIMS, PhD, SPHR Vice Chancellor/Chief Human Resources Officer at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Danielle Lombard-Sims, PhD, SPHR, is responsible for developing and implementing a human resources strategic plan consistent with the university’s strategic plan, charting a course for change management, process improvements, leadership development and greater organizational effectiveness for the university. She previously served in HR executive roles at Regional One Health, LSU Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Health System. HOPE CARAWAY Director Human Resources, White River Health System As human resources director for White River Health System in Batesville, AR, a not-for-profit healthcare system with more than 1,500 employees, Hope Caraway directs the work of the HR staff while leading the team’s process improvement initiatives. Caraway’s career includes 30 years in human resources with experience in management, strategic implementation, compensation, employee relations, employment, team collaboration and employee benefits. An involved grandmother, her belief in lifelong learning fuels her passion for people and their potential. ARKANSAS’ HOSPITAL HEALTH FORCE — AN HR ROUNDTABLE It might be the understatement of the decade, but many firsts in our lifetimes have happened because of COVID-19. As the weight of this pandemic hits in waves, no part of society has been appreciated more than you, the healthcare workforce. We thought we would check in on the status of the Arkansas hospital force by interviewing the human resource leads for facilities facing the brunt of the waves’ impacts.
